Mothering Sunday at BeerHere

Another Beer for the Hop Lover ! Made from 1 Malt and 3 different Hops, Urthel Hop-It Superior Hoppy Blond Ale is a wonderfully complex creation.

The Story:
Following a visit to the American Northwest in January, 2005, Hildegard returned to Belgium enthusiastic about of the differents Indian Pale Ales (IPA) she had tasted. With her passion for barley, yeast and especially hops, she wanted to brew an IPA of her own. It had to be special, an hommage to hops in the style of American Craft Brewers, but with a real Flemish touch. Her touch!
Using only different aromatic European hops and nothing but Pilsner malt, Hildegard has created a vibrant, hoppy, full-flavored top fermented and bottle conditioned golden special classic, Urthel Hop-It.

The Temple of a Million Bottles

The resident Buddhist monks at the Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew complex in north-east Thailand have built twenty buildings from beer bottles including; the main temple over a lake, crematorium, prayer rooms, a hall, water tower, tourist bathrooms and several small bungalows raised off the ground which serve as monks quarters.

Over all 1.5 million bottles were used. The bottle collection started in 1984. But the monks do not intend to stop there: 'The more bottles we get, the more buildings we make', says Abbot San Kataboonyo.

Recycling doesn't stop at building the temple's buildings - mosaics around the temple, predominantly of Buddha, are made out of bottle caps.
Besides being ego-friendly, the disused bottles don't fade, provide good lighting and are easy to clean.

What is YOUR Favourite beer???

I have just had a quick whizz around the BeerHere office asking my colleagues what their favourite beer is.
I had a couple of shotgun answers like: Stella and Fosters, but I know you people have more taste and a better imagination than that.
After some thought we came up with a short list of beers we had tried and enjoyed the most.

The German beers were the most popular, with two entries from Erdinger; the Hefe Wiesse and the Hefe Dunkel. Flensburger Gold was also mentioned
One Belgian beer was mentioned in the form of: Karmeliet Tripel
From America we had: Brooklyn Lager
and from France Desperados
Not a bad list for a hand full of humble office workers.

Now this list is just to get you all started. Please let us know what your favourite beer is and why buy commenting on this post. It is very simple to do. Anyone can just click comment below and put some text in. Easy as that.
